Promotion of Energy Audit and Conservation of Energy(PEACE)

The Scheme envisages imparting of new
technologies for saving Energy in different MSME Manufacturing Sectors by conducting Energy Audits.
v
The scheme comprises of four components viz., Awareness programme, Training
Programme, Detailed energy audit and Incentive for implementation of energy
audit recommendations.
v
One day awareness programme, disseminating knowledge on energy conservation by resource person from
National Productivity Council(NPC) ,India SME Tech Services Ltd. of SIDBI and
Accredited energy auditor.
v
Training Programme will be imparted for period of 3 to 5 days
based on the need and requirement of enterprises.
v
Detailed Energy Audit identifies the major source of energy in use, lapses in
energy usage, areas of improvisation and recommending the policy measures for
enhancing the energy saving in the industry.
v
The Energy Audit will be conducted by the auditing team led by Bureau of Energy
Efficiency accredited Energy Auditors.
v
50% of the Energy Audit cost subject to a maximum of Rs.75,000/- per energy
audit per unit incurred towards the
professional charges for conducting the audit will be reimbursed by the State
Government. Eligible MSMEs shall file their claim complete in all respect within
one year from the date of completion of energy audit.
v
Incentive for implementing energy audit recommendation – All manufacturing MSMEs
which have undertaken energy audit and have achieved atleast 15% energy savings
in terms of number of units of energy consumed per unit of product manufactured
with reference to last 12 months average.
v
25% subsidy subject to a maximum Rs.2 lakhs on the cost of a)
technology acquired for energy saving, b) replacement of energy inefficient
equipment/machinery/accessories newly purchased and installed c)modification/
alteration made in the existing machinery/equipment/retrofit equipments. The
MSMEs should file the subsidy applications after 3 months from the date of
implementation of energy audit recommendation but within 1 year from the date of
implementation of the audit recommendations.

All the manufacturing MSMEs
undertaking energy audit for the first
time and MSMEs already availed Energy Audit subsidy and
taking up subsequent energy audit now
after a period of three years are eligible under the scheme.

Priliminary survey has been carried for MSMEs
clusters like Rice mills, Textile dying units, Plastics Manufacturing units
and food processing units.
